Two recent reports shed new and disturbing light on the unique circumstances and particular hardships faced by homeless women in Canada. Rarely is the public given the insight into the specifics of homeless women’s daily lives that these documents provide.

Women who run small, successful businesses that allow them to take control of their own lives aren’t making it onto the front pages of the business section of the newspaper. That doesn’t mean they’re not out there, and it certainly doesn’t mean they can’t learn from one another in a quest to grow even stronger. Here is a taste of the book, The Boss of You, where the authors explain the beauty of keeping things small.

It will take strong and steady efforts and real resources for Canada to change current conditions, securing social and economic rights now and in the future. The museum will soon start to choose staff and a board of trustees. This important group of people will determine if it can become a viable way to improve human rights.
